Eco Art Projects Education - About

Eco Art Projects; innovative courses and workshops encourage positive action for the environment and a reduction of our carbon footprint.

The need for environmental consideration was highlighted in the UN Conference on Environment & Development (Rio Earth Summit) in 1992.

Eco Art Projects has been developing environmentally friendly working initiatives for over 15 years.

Our projects recognise the need to involve young people in finding solutions to environmental and sustainable development challenges at a local level.

This key element of the recommendations made at the Rio Earth Summit will lead to future generations being able to enjoy the same quality of life we are used to today.

Eco Art Projects offer courses and workshops for all ages and abilities including Pre-Schools, Schools, Special Schools, Family Learning, Adult Education, Local Groups and Organisations.

Also available soon, a learning resource centre for environmental and sustainability issues through science art & crafts activities linked to all curricular subjects and areas: raising environmental awareness and developing green thinking

Project Aims

  • To provide a unique high quality learning opportunity for the people of Peterborough that will teach the City’s residents how to “tread lightly on the land” and support the City’s bid to become the UK's Environment Capital.
  • To educate local adults and children about the importance of the environment and the effects their actions can have upon it, providing specialist education for all in a controlled environment.

  • To capture the imagination and skills of forward thinking individuals and organisations for the benefit of the City.

  • To create a wildlife haven within the centre of Peterborough that will benefit local Bio-Diversity, help with the reduction of our carbon footprint and aid the implementation of Local Agenda 21 and the Local Habitats Action Plan.

  • To provide an educational resource for children, adults and organisations that will be developed as a centre of excellence for Sustainability Studies.
