The Gruffalo

This Project uses local tree burrs to create an eco-friendly Gruffalo complete with glass marbles for yellow eyes and his green poisonous wart on his nose, horns and tusk made from recycled Dear antler and complete with purple prickles from dowels painted and fitted by the children, his teeth and black tong also painted by the children.

The sculpture installed in Caverstede Nursery gardens together with some of the other Gruffalo characters… Owl, Snake, Fox and a collection of Red Spotted Toadstools, previously created at The Eco Works

The children got involved in project by constructing clay and natural materials models, painting gruffalo, digging and making path, making mosaic patterns and sawing logs to make the toadstools.
